PILE ON!

No. Town hall doesn’t need a new leccy hook up it’s all part of the Climate Change Festival. Why don’t you just switch off your television set and go out and do something less boring instead?

Hey. That’d be a catchy TV jingle thingy! *trademarks*

The Paper Market

So yesterday afternoon I was my usual horizontal self, had this flyer on my desk about some nice stuff in Moseley so grabbed the cam and dived out of work.

I made my way over to Jibbering Records where I chilled out with a nice cappucino…listened to some nice dub and talked (what little knowledge I have about them) records with the owner (who is such a bloody nice bloke). I also managed to take some pics (above) of the work of local brum town artists.

If you get a chance pop by. It’s a lovely little place to kill a few hours in tunes and coffee.

One word and one word only!

This is a really nice bit of work by Noah Brier called, Brand Tags. You’re given a brand logo and you simply put down your thoughts of said brand, but you only have one word to use. It gives you some super-speed insight into how brands are perceived out there and some tags may even make you think slightly differently about a brand. Others, will simply make you giggle!

Introducing… Bolton’s inimitable Blackout Crew, the bastard child(ren) of hard house, drum & bass MCing, Jive Bunny and Tesco Value hair gel. Is it me or does the guy who does the second verse really look like Little Kev from the Kersal Massive?

Anyway, look out for them at a couple of pHaT rAveS in the near future. Apparently they’re big in Wigan.

Live and time-based arts venue

The Edge, “Birmingham’s first dedicated live and time-based arts venue”, wants to put the joy back into making art:

Saturday Sesh is not networking, it’s not a series of seminars, it’s just a place for artists to meet, to share ideas and resources and to make things happen.

All of which is highly laudable, so more power to their collective elbow. Anyone interested should feel free to drop in from 3pm on Saturday 3 May and every Saturday after for drinks, nibbles and a chat. Admission is free.
